Is CheMondis free of charge?

Yes, currently the use of the CheMondis marketplace is entirely free of charge for all buyers and suppliers. For buyers this includes account creating, searching, finding and ordering of products. Supplier can register, list and sell their products for free.

At some point in the future, however, we may start charging for some features and services on CheMondis.
There is no risk for you, as we will transparently notify users beforehand about this change.

What kind of companies can register on CheMondis?

CheMondis is a digital marketplace for the chemical industry, starting off in the European market. However, we do welcome any international company that complies with European and International regulations.

To assure a high quality of all market participants, we verify that each newly registered user / company has a legitimate interest in either supplying or buying chemical products.

Can I register as both: Buyer and Supplier?

Yes, your company can use CheMondis to both buy and sell chemical products. However, please note that in order to comply with the EU anti-trust regulation, two separate accounts are required: one buyer account and one seller account. The accounts must be assigned to different people and e-mail addresses within your organization.

It is not possible to register the same user as both buyer and supplier.

How long does the verification process take?

After you have registered on CheMondis with your personal and company information and confirmed your e-mail address, our customer support team will validate your company.

We verify each new registration to ensure that we only have trusted companies on CheMondis. It may take up to two business days, but we do our best to speed up the process. You will receive a confirmation e-mail when your company is verified. Then your account is active and you can start your business on CheMondis. In case of questions, we will reach out to you via e-mail or telephone.

How can I request a Quote on CheMondis?

As CheMondis is a B2B marketplace you can request a quote directly from the supplier.
If you wish to send a quotation request to a supplier, first use the search function to find a product you need on the marketplace. After you have selected a product(s), click on the "Add to Requests" button and then "Send a Request". When you have entered details for your quote and sent your request to the supplier(s), they will also be notified about it via e-mail.

You can also send a multiple quote request for a product to several suppliers.

Finding a product

How can I use the filters and the search function?

There are currently several possible ways to search for products on CheMondis. (1) The search bar (2) by industries, (3) by product groups and (4) by delivery countries. You can also apply such filters as (5) Incoterm, (6) packaging type and (7) quantity. All approaches can be used individually or combined. In the search bar you can browse products you need by simply typing in either the product name, the CAS number or the supplier company.

What can I do, if I cannot find the product I need?

The product portfolio is constantly expanding. However, it may happen that the product you are looking for is not available on the marketplace yet. In this case, you can always reach out to our customer support team via support@chemondis.com and we will be glad to help you with the product search.

What product information does CheMondis provide?

As CheMondis is a B2B marketplace, all product information is provided by the supplier directly. The product detail page contains the CAS number of the substance, manufacturer, shipment countries. Many suppliers also provide TDS and SDTs for the buyers.

How can I request a sample?

We understand that before purchasing a product, you may wish to request a sample first. You can ask for a sample when sending a quote request: check the "I need a sample of this product" box and the supplier will see that you require a sample in the quote request window.

Quote Request & Negotiation

How can I request a Quote?

If you wish to send a quote request to a supplier, first use the search function to find a product you need on the marketplace. After you have selected a product(s), click on the "Add to Requests" button and then "Send a Request". After you have entered details for your quote and sent your request to the supplier(s), they will also be notified about it via e-mail.

Why should I assign users from my company to a Quote Request and how can I do it?

If you wish your colleague to receive notifications on a particular Quote Request / Agreement status updates, you can easily do it in your account. For that, please remember that you need to have an admin status in your company.

In order to assign a user to an existing quote, open the quote to see all details. At the very top of the page above the chat window, you can add users (assignees).
This user will then be able to participate in the conversation and will receive all notifications in case of updates. Non-assigned users will not receive notifications.

When will I receive an offer from the supplier?

After you have sent your request, the supplier will get an automatic e-mail notification. The supplier company will then reply as soon as possible to your request.

How can I negotiate long-term contracts? Does the Agreement feature help?

Existing long-term contracts can be displayed and new ones can be negotiated on CheMondis with our Agreement feature.
An Agreement on CheMondis is a deal for recurring purchases of a product with pre-negotiated conditions like price and volume for a certain period of time.  After the Agreement has been confirmed, you can start making orders until the total volume is called off.

How can I request a quote from several suppliers?

To request a quote for a product from different suppliers CheMondis offers a Multiple Quote Request function.
Search for a product on the marketplace and select as many products as you wish by choosing on "Add to Requests". Your pre-selected options will be displayed on the right-hand side of the page. Then, please, fill out the details for of the Quote Request form and send it to all of the selected suppliers.

How can I exchange documents with the supplier?

You can securely share the documents with the supplier in the chat function. They will be also available in the documents section of the Quote Request page.
On the order detail page supplier can also upload for you such documents as invoice and order confirmation.

I would like to add several shipping addresses to my account. How can I do that?

You can add a new shipping address in the settings in your CheMondis account.
Select "Add Address" and then fill out the information. After you have added it to your list of addresses, you will be able to select it for your Incoterm location when you request a quote.

How does the delivery work and what are Incoterms?

The delivery on CheMondis is fulfilled in accordance with the Incoterm, that you have agreed on with the supplier.
When you send a Quote Request to the supplier, please indicate a preferred Incoterm®. Your supplier will then agree or propose another Incoterm in the offer.

Incoterms® (International Commercial Terms) are predefined commercial conditions used in international trade. They help to understand tasks, costs and risks of the parties with respect to the transportation of goods.

At the moment, we have Incoterms® 2010 applicable on CheMondis.
For Instant Deals the Incoterm is always EXW.

Placing an Order

Can other marketplace participants see transaction details?

No. The details of your transaction are only visible to you and your supplier.

Who is my contract partner?

Your supplier. CheMondis is an intermediary platform with the purpose of connecting buyers and suppliers.

How can I get in touch with the Supplier in case of questions?

During negotiations, you can get in touch with your supplier using the messaging function in the Quote / Agreement request window. The supplier will be notified about your message via email.

After you have made an order on CheMondis, you can retrieve supplier’s contact information from the order dashboard under addresses.

Is it possible to cancel my order?

Yes, if you need to cancel an order, please reach out to CheMondis customer support team on support@chemondis.com.

Please, also contact the supplier directly beforehand and discuss the possible solutions and further steps.

Product Listing

How do I list my products?

Listing products on CheMondis is free of charge. There are two ways of uploading products on CheMondis: single product upload and bulk upload.

You can upload a product in your products page on CheMondis. To do that, log in to your account: login

Add your product details and activate it to be visible on the marketplace.

To add several products, you can also use the Bulk Upload function. What are the steps to follow?
1. Download the template (excel .xlsx file) from your products page;
2. Choose "Start Product Import" and select relevant info for your products;
3. Fill out the information about your products in the template and upload it back.

After the file upload, your products will be listed in your account. Please, check the information and activate them.

Do I have to enter prices for my products?

No, prices are not mandatory, and you can upload products without a price. Potential customers can then send you a Quote Request.
For the Instant Deals, however, it is necessary to indicate a price and product availability.

For individual Quote Requests we also advise you to enter information about the availability of the product, since this might determine whether your potential new customers request a quote or not.

My products can only be sold to specific countries. Can I restrict delivery countries?

Sure, no problem. You can specify the countries your wish your products to be sold to when you upload your products on CheMondis.
Please, also note that you may receive quote requests from countries that are outside of your selected countries range. You can then individually decide on each potential business opportunity.

In what language do I have to upload my safety and technical data sheet?

Please upload your SDS and TDS in English. If this is not possible, get in touch with our chemical product management team via chemicals@chemondis.com and we can search for other solutions.

Who can see my product information?

Your documents such as SDS and TDS can be seen only by the registered and verified buyers.

The information about your product from the product detail page as well as your company name is publicly available to attract more buyers for you.

How do I make sure that as many buyers as possible are able to find my product?

There are several important factors:

1. Fill out the product description with care. We recommend you to add as much details as possible to your product (appearance, concentration, units, product groups, industries) as it can help customers to make the right choice. Complete info about your product will positively affect the ranking of your product.
2. Try to reply on the requests from the customers in the timely manner. This will also positively affect the ranking of your product for future searches.
3. You can also set up a Brand Shop for your product listings. For that, please get in touch with us via support@chemondis.com.

Selling & Negotiation

What is a Quote Request?

Quote Request is when a buyer requests an offer for a chemical product from a supplier. A Quote Request allows both parties to individually negotiate details of the deal, such as volume, price and Incoterm, etc.

How can I negotiate long-term contracts? Does the Agreement feature help?

Existing long-term contracts can be displayed and new ones can be negotiated on CheMondis with our Agreement feature.
An Agreement on CheMondis is a deal for recurring purchases of a product with pre-negotiated conditions like price and volume for a certain period of time. The buyer can then place different orders until the total volume is called off.

Please note that you can always re-negotiate conditions of the Agreement with the buyer.

Why should I assign users from my company to a Quote Request and how can I do it?

Can I provide individual discounts to my established customers?

Yes, there are two ways to do that. You can use the Quote Request to offer a product for a special price or the Agreement feature to negotiate an individual deal for a certain period of time.

Can I individually negotiate a delivery date and Incoterm with my customer?

Yes, a customer may request a delivery date in the corresponding field when sending a Quote Request. You can then either confirm or provide another delivery date proposal that the buyer can accept or further discuss with you. Or, you can initially propose a delivery date in your offer to the buyer.

The buyer will indicate a preferred Incoterm® in the Quote Request. You can then agree or propose another Incoterm in your offer and discuss delivery options with the customer in the chat.

How can I exchange documents with my customers?

You can securely share the documents with the buyer in the chat function. They will be also available in the documents section of the quote request page.

Order Management

Can other marketplace participants see transaction details?

Can I cancel my orders?

Why do I not receive notifications when a new order or quote comes in?

When a new order, quote or offer comes in, all users of the company are notified about that via e-mail. For updates on existing quotes, only those users, who are assigned to this particular order or quote request, are notified via e-mail.

If you do not receive the notifications, which you are expecting to receive, make sure to be assigned to the respective order or quote.

How can I register on CheMondis?

To register you need to sign up your company as well as at least one individual user. Later, more individual users can be added under the same company.

First, you create an individual account with the user's name, the company name, the user's email and a password. This will be your admin account on CheMondis.

Then, you register your company with the company's VAT number, billing address and a phone number. Please note that each company can only be registered once as a buyer and once as a supplier.

In case your company already has an account on CheMondis marketplace, you can ask your colleagues to send you an invitation to join under the same company. More about how to add a new user to your company, you can find in this FAQ within "my Account".

Where do I find my VAT number?

Most companies have a unique value added tax (VAT) identification number or goods and services (GST) identification number. You can check it in your tax certificate or call tax authorities. If you do not have a VAT number in your country, please submit your business registration number.

What happens after I register? How long is the verification process?

You have registered? Welcome!

Here are the steps of the registration process on CheMondis:
1. Register with your personal and company information.
2. Confirm your e-mail address by clicking on the activation link in our automatic e-mail.
3. We personally verify each newly registered company to make sure that the CheMondis marketplace is a trusted environment. This takes up to 2 business days.
4. In the meantime, you can get acquainted with the marketplace.
As a supplier, you can already start uploading your products. Please note, that you will only be able to activate them after your company is verified.
5. CheMondis will send you a confirmation e-mail when you company gets validated on the marketplace.
6. Now your account is fully activated and you can start your business on CheMondis.

How can I change my company information?

It is crucial that your company data is always up-to-date, so that buying and selling on CheMondis run smoothly. You can update your information in the administration tool in your settings. Alternatively, you can log in to your admin tool: settings

How can I add new users to my company to source or sell products together?

You can easily add colleagues to join your work on CheMondis.They don’t need to register again. You can add a new user in the administration tool in your settings. Choose "Add a new user" in the "User" section and fill out the colleague’s data in the fields. Your colleague will then receive your invitation to join. You can log in to your admin tool: settings

Please note that they will also have the same account type (buyer or supplier) which you chose for your company. If you work in sales but your colleagues want to join CheMondis for purchasing, they need to register a separate buyer company account.

How can I change or add addresses of my company?

You can add a new address in settings in your CheMondis account. Select "Add Address" and then fill out the information. For example, you can add more shipping address locations and then select the relevant one for delivery.

What is an admin user? How can I change the admin user of my company?

Admin users on CheMondis: (1) can add new users to your company, (2) can update user information on CheMondis, (3) receive all notifications about quotes / orders unless other users are assigned to a particular quote.

When you go to your settings, select "Users" and you will see all users currently registered under your company. As an admin user you can then add new users or change the role of existing users to admin.

How does CheMondis assure buyer and supplier compliance?

We do our best to make CheMondis a trusted environment for business. For that, we only accept buyers and suppliers with a verified address and VAT number. Moreover, we perform a background check of each newly registered company on CheMondis.

How does CheMondis make sure that all listed products are compliant?

To ensure high quality standards and regulatory compliance with EU norms, suppliers provide for the products they list on CheMondis such information as SDS and TDS, descriptions, catalogue information and company certificates to have everything a buyer needs to place an order in one place.

How does Chemondis make sure that product Information on the marketplace is accurate?

We have a team of chemical experts who constantly check uploaded products and evaluate the quality of the information provided. If they notice that something is missing or misleading, they will get in touch with the respective supplier and help to improve the information.

Furthermore, the product information on CheMondis is only provided directly by the supplier of the products. We do not add any product information taken from sources other than that.
